Philo Ventures is seeking a Founder in Residence to lead BloomLogic—a new platform designed to transform the wholesale grower and nursery industry.
BloomLogic will combine a tailored ERP system for growers with a B2B marketplace that connects growers, nurseries, and landscape contractors. Our goal is to streamline operations, open new sales channels, and drive efficiency in a critical but traditionally underserved sector.
The Founder in Residence will have full ownership over the vision, product development, and go-to-market strategy—supported by the Philo Ventures team and infrastructure. This role offers a unique opportunity to build and scale a company from the ground up with meaningful equity participation.
Founder Ownership: Shape the company’s strategy and product with the autonomy typically reserved for founders.
De-Risked Entrepreneurship: Build with access to pre-seed capital, strategic guidance, and operational resources.
Large Market Opportunity: The nursery and grower supply chain is a critical part of the broader built environment and is ripe for modernization.
Path to CEO: This Founder in Residence role is structured to transition into CEO upon achieving early milestones.
Business Validation and Product Development: Refine the product concept and customer needs through direct engagement with growers, nurseries, and landscape contractors.
Customer Engagement: Conduct discovery, pilot programs, and early sales efforts to validate and refine product-market fit.
Product Ownership: Lead the development and iteration of an MVP, in collaboration with engineering and design teams.
Go-to-Market Leadership: Develop the initial go-to-market strategy and execute on early customer acquisition.
Fundraising and Growth: Build relationships with investors and lead future fundraising efforts as the company scales.
Industry Experience or Deep Interest: Direct experience in nursery operations, grower management, agricultural supply chains, or landscape contracting—or a strong interest in learning and building for this sector.
Startup and Product Experience: A background in early-stage product development, B2B SaaS, or marketplace startups is strongly preferred.
Customer-Centric Mindset: Ability to engage deeply with end users to understand needs, gather feedback, and iterate solutions.
Strategic and Tactical Execution: Able to balance high-level strategic thinking with hands-on execution across sales, operations, and product development.
Resilient and Adaptable: Comfortable working in fast-paced, ambiguous environments where flexibility and iteration are critical.
Experience with ERP systems, supply chain management software, or vertical SaaS platforms.
Familiarity with the plant nursery, horticulture, or live goods procurement industries.
Prior experience raising capital or managing early-stage investor relationships.
